practices

We live in extraordinarily challenging times - the kinds of times that have been the crucibles from which emerge new faiths. Why? Because, in the face of enormous struggles, faith gives us hope. It turns us away from passing pleasures to focus on profound truths. Faith traditions offer teachings and techniques that strengthen our resolve and build up our resilience. They remind us that life on this beautiful planet is a bountiful gift -- one that delights and astounds us, filling us with a profound sense of gratitude and generosity. They nudge us past our clinging to our egos and towards forgiveness, peace and reconciliation -- not just with others, but with ourselves.

On this new page, we will provide practices culled from different traditions that are tailored so that anyone of any faith or no faith can practice them to help you keep your sanity, dignity, humility and resilience.

Here are the practices:

Loving-kindness practice (text and audio):  Hate mires us in self-pity and powerlessness, while pulling a black hood over our minds and hearts. Transform the energy of hate into the energy of love and compassion to restore your power and clarify your thinking.
