Bees for Peace Israel was founded by Yossi Aud. Although our organisations share the name and many of our missions, we are not related.
Bees for Peace Israel envisions bees as living in harmony with each other and the environment to build bridges via bio-dynamic beekeeping between Christians, Muslims, and Jews in Palestine, Israel, and Jordan. They perceive bees as role models, working together in perfect cooperation and harmony. Bees for Peace Israel emphasizes that bees can teach us how to act for society and live in co-existence. In a geopolitical area with longstanding conflicts, Bees for Peace tries to bring different religious communities together through, for example, interreligious and multicultural children’s programmes.
Bees for Peace Israel has an anthroposophical and biodynamic background. This project encourages people to get started in urban beekeeping, whether that be through creating rooftop apiaries or offering biodynamic beekeeping courses in their educational centres. Furthermore, the project emphasises the empowerment of women from different religious traditions as well as migrant women.
