Dr. Carrie B. Dohe

Carrie B. Dohe (Ph.D., University of Chicago, 2012) currently has a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto School of the Environment to implement Bees for Peace in Ontario. Before relocating to Toronto, Carrie was a project research associate at the University of Marburg. With funding from the German Research Foundation, Carrie investigated how faith-based environmentalism and climate protection are transforming religious teachings and practices. She is especially interested in furthering interfaith cooperation for nature conservation, assisting conservationists develop more effective communication with non-experts, and supporting faith communities’ efforts to become more sustainable.

Anne McArdle

Anne McArdle is a Toronto local and graduate from the University of Toronto. As an intrepid traveller, she has a keen interest in world cultures, and as any typical Canadian, loves nature and the outdoors.  With a background in International Business Management and experience with grassroots organizations around the world, Anne is excited to be acting as local guide and administration for the Canadian Bees for Peace chapter.

Marlen Ott

Marlen Ott is a Master’s student of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Marburg. Her research focuses on resource extraction, agriculture and environmental conflicts. She is therefore excited to work on the Bees for Peace project, which aims to protect pollinators while simultaneously strengthening communities. Marlen’s primary responsibility for Bees for Peace is managing information on spiritual resources and the role of bees in different religions.

Evelyn Schenk

Picture
Evelyn Schenk is a graduate from the University of Marburg (Germany). She organised field trips to faith communities for many years and is a counsellor for refugees and victims of rape and abuse. As a global citizen and member of a Buddhist order she teaches mindfulness and meditation, especially to children, young people and families, where education of environmental issues plays a vital role. Her main responsibilities at Bees for Peace are the website and educational resources.
